Enterprise architecture that carries strategy into operations

Strategy, processes, systems and data designed as one system. We diagnose, design and implement, and we leave behind a structure that keeps working after we're gone.

The problem

Every part of the company was decided on its own

Most companies don't have an execution problem. They have a design problem: strategy, operations, systems and data each move at their own pace, and the cost shows up where they meet.

The spreadsheet next to the ERP

The system went live, but the work still runs on a side spreadsheet. The investment is there; the adoption isn't.

The number depends on who ran it

Every department has its own version of the results, so meetings debate the spreadsheet instead of making the call.

Operations hinge on one person

Rules that live only in the head of whoever has been there longest. When that person leaves, part of the operation leaves too.

Targets don't come from strategy

The team hits its target and the company doesn't move. Technically correct, strategically empty.

Management without technology breeds inefficiency. Technology without management breeds waste.

That's why GVC has no management-only or technology-only projects. ERP implementation, integration, automation and data governance start from the same architecture as strategy and operations.

The method

From objective to metric, with no loose links

We trace every company objective to the process that executes it, the system that supports it, the data that records it and the metric that measures it. Wherever the chain breaks, that's where the work is.

01

Objective

Everything starts with the end the company has chosen. An objective with no owner, no deadline and no tie to strategy doesn't make it into the architecture.

02

Process

The objective defines the process that delivers it: who does the work, who decides and under which rules. Process comes before system.

03

System

The system serves the process as designed, not the other way around. Automating a disorganised operation only speeds up the disorganisation.

04

Data

Every piece of information has one trusted source and one owner. Reliable data is a by-product of disciplined operations, not of a side spreadsheet.

05

Metric

Measure what leads to a decision. If the number changes and nobody decides anything differently, it comes off the dashboard.

The GVC ecosystem

Three units, one architecture

Consulting, digital products and education all start from the same method. What we design with clients becomes software and becomes coursework.

Architect Scan: see where strategy gets lost, before you invest

Where to start

Architect Scan: see where strategy gets lost, before you invest

The Architect Scan is GVC's enterprise architecture assessment. We analyse the strategy, operations, systems, data and metrics in use, and check whether the company's objectives actually reach day-to-day operations.

You get a report of improvements and misalignments, a traceability map for every objective, a review of critical processes, systems and metrics, a roadmap prioritised by impact and effort, and an executive presentation.

A weekly progress report and a monthly executive committee with your sponsor, from start to finish. The roadmap is yours, even if you decide to carry it out without us.

The GVC Architect journey

After the assessment, the right scale

The Scan shows where to act. The journey continues at the size of the problem: one department, the whole company, or keeping what's been built in good shape.

Architect Base

One department

Functional strategy for the department, traceable objectives, documented processes, systems and data, a management dashboard and assisted rollout of improvements.

Architect Scale

The whole company

Corporate, business and functional strategy in cascade, operating model mapping, technology and data architecture, cascading targets and rollout in waves. The core deliverable is the Strategic Dossier.

Architect Core+

Organisations that have implemented and want to keep the architecture alive

Traceability governance, continuous evolution of processes and integrations, a steady management cadence and support within the contract's SLA.

How we think

Working principles

01

Purpose defines form

We start with the objective. Process, structure, system and metric exist to serve it; anything that serves no objective is a candidate to go.

02

Reality decides

Decisions rest on what operations actually show, with evidence and a source. Opinion, rank or enthusiasm for a tool are no substitute for facts.

03

It works in operations, not on a slide

A good decision is one that works in the company's real context, with the people and resources it has. A recommendation that never gets implemented doesn't count as a deliverable.

04

Every deliverable has an owner

Every process, data set, metric and decision has a named owner. Shared responsibility ends up being no one's responsibility.

What we think is on the record

Insights

What we think is on the record

We write about enterprise architecture, strategy, data governance, project management, ERP and AI in business with the same standard we apply to client work: a clear thesis, cited sources and no invented numbers.

A few starting points: ERP is organisational architecture, not an IT project. AI governance isn't a brake; it's the structure that turns innovation into operations. Capability isn't a project; it's an asset.

Where does your strategy get lost on the way to operations?

A conversation with a consultant shows where to start. If the starting point is the Architect Scan, you walk away with a prioritised roadmap, even if you decide to carry it out without us.
