About Golden Valley Consulting

Enterprise architecture that keeps working after we're gone

GVC designs the company as one system: strategy, operations, systems and data connected by the same logic, with an owner and a metric at every link.

This isn't slide-deck consulting. It's diagnosis, design and implementation.

A recommendation that never reaches operations doesn't count as a deliverable. We measure our work by what the company can run on its own afterwards.

Purpose

Mission, vision and values

Mission

To architect productive, efficient and sustainable organisations, integrating strategy, operations and technology into a single system so they can grow in competitive markets.

Individual accountability

Each person answers for their own decisions and actions. Results depend on the commitment of every individual.

Excellence

Competence, integrity and constant improvement. There is no room for mediocrity.

Transparency

Shared information improves decisions, builds trust and strengthens collaboration.

Balance

Short and long term in harmony, trade-offs carefully weighed and results that last.

The problem lives where departments meet

Why we exist

The problem lives where departments meet

Companies invest in systems, planning and training, almost always as separate projects. The ERP becomes an IT project, strategy becomes a once-a-year event and data becomes the analyst's problem. Each part works; the whole doesn't.

GVC works exactly at that boundary. We start from enterprise architecture: a map of how objectives, processes, people, systems and data connect, and of where that connection breaks.

What we aim to leave behind is capability: people, processes, information and technology organised to deliver value in a repeatable way. Capability isn't a project; it's a company asset.

How we think

Working principles

01

Purpose defines form

We start with the objective. Process, structure, system and metric exist to serve it; anything that serves no objective is a candidate to go.

02

Classify before you model

Before designing a process or a table, we define what each thing is: customer, contract, order, department. Clear definitions prevent the same data from showing up under three names with three numbers.

03

Reality decides

Decisions rest on what operations actually show, with evidence and a source. Opinion, rank or enthusiasm for a tool are no substitute for facts.

04

It works in operations, not on a slide

A good decision is one that works in the company's real context, with the people and resources it has. A recommendation that never gets implemented doesn't count as a deliverable.

05

Every deliverable has an owner

Every process, data set, metric and decision has a named owner. Shared responsibility ends up being no one's responsibility.

06

Results you can measure

Work is worth what it produces: a structure that delivers measured results and that the company can run and evolve with its own team.

How we work

A structure that outlasts our engagement

Every engagement follows the same logic, from assessment to operations, with a weekly progress report and a monthly executive committee with your sponsor.

01

Assess

We analyse strategy, operations, systems, data and metrics, and trace each objective all the way down. The output is a misalignment report and a prioritised roadmap.

02

Design

Cascading strategy, documented processes, roles and decision rights, systems and a trusted source for every piece of information. All of it written in the company's language, not ours.

03

Implement

Improvements rolled out with hands-on support, one department at a time or in waves. Process before system, rules before automation.

04

Transfer

Training in the real work context, management routines in place and tacit knowledge turned into documents and rules. Operations stop depending on heroes.

05

Sustain

When it makes sense, Architect Core+ keeps the architecture alive: traceability governance, continuous evolution and a steady management cadence.

The GVC ecosystem

Three units, one architecture

Consulting, digital products and education all start from the same method. What we design with clients becomes software and becomes coursework.
